“I favor the Greeks even when they bring gifts”
You know, I don’t know. I feel like there was some deeper meaning behind this when I wrote it. It’s also a flipped version of “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.” So I guess, I’m not afraid of Greeks, even if they bring a Trojan Horse. Maybe it’s something about fearlessness, or ignorance, or something else that hit me while in class today.
Whatever it means, it goes on the wall.
Julian Plenti - “Only If You Run”
“Everybody runs.” That’s what Tom Cruise’s character, John Anderton, says in Minority Report. Until recently I wasn’t much of a runner. I started running because I realized that while I don’t appear incredibly out of shape, given the history of heart problems in my family, I should do whatever I can to keep active and keep my heart healthy. Then this song was playing in SGU, and it reminded me of that quote.
While I wasn’t a runner, I did do some running from things. People, memories, the past, and other such things. Sometimes it’s important to remember that running isn’t always a bad thing. We need to run so we can keep going on. Sure, you should face your problems, but at one point or another in our lives, we do run, and that’s okay.
You will make it…but only if you run
