New Projekt

Hot off of seeing the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End) in theaters last week I’ve come up with a few ideas for posters for the three films. Hopefully I can pull myself away from Tales of Xillia enough over the next few weeks to make them look nice and whatnot.

Tumblr! I’m looking to collaborate.

I’m looking to team up with a writer who is familiar with humor and video games, preferably games all the way back to Super Mario Bros. and through today. They’d be responsible for only a few lines a week to work on a project I have in which I will be drawing the accompanying images.

If you’re interested or know someone who might be, contact me.

Missed another Sketchy Sunday

My bad. I was out of town for a wedding (not mine) so I wasn’t really able to work on sketching anything. And when I got back last night I had a quick project I wanted to do. For the record, Forces isn’t done yet. I’m working on a t-shirt design that may appeal to people more than the posters, but I personally enjoy the designs. Anyway, I hope to get a sketch up sometime this week, probably a practice sketch of someone.

On a different note, I really wish I had someone to model for me for my new project idea. Sometimes I work better when I have something to literally draw from, especially if that is something I have designed myself. Plus, it would help me work on my photography skills.

I did not realize how long this new project would take

I also apparently overestimated how much material I would have to work with too.

Oh, and if you’re looking for more Pokémon stuff, there should be some more going up sometime tomorrow (if I find the time).

It’s just one thing after another around here. How is your weekend going?

Work in Progress

So I’m hard at work trying to finish out the console generation of The Legends before working on the handheld generation, but unfortunately this whole grad school thing likes to get in the way. That and Kingdoms of Amalur arrived today and that’s probably going to eat up some time unless I can manage to tear myself away.

Anyway, while all of this work is in progress I already have ideas for my next project (no hints yet) but I’m also looking for more ideas, so I have a question:

What are your favorite gaming franchises?

This is #Project3144: Leviathan. Once a day, for as long as it takes, I will be adding something to this mural. A sketch, a painting, writing, poem, pictures, whatever comes to mind. Feel free to contribute in the form of Tweets or questions here and I’ll add what you ask and answer it on the wall.

Why am I doing this? Well, as I’ve come to realize, I’m not an ordinary person. I don’t really know what I’m best at. I don’t really know my full potential. I figure this might be a way to explore that. I’m not a traditional artist. I’m not a traditional scientist. I’m not really a traditional anything (except maybe a nice guy), so here’s my chance to further that.

This should be interesting.

Because I clearly have too much ambition, or time, I created these possible icons for 1amgeek for some of the different categories. From left to right it is: geek, music, games, art, and film/video. I’m having a difficult time creating one for lifestyle. What simple symbol could I use to indicate lifestyle?

Alternative 1amgeek logo. Similar as before, in the form of a clock with the 1 at the 1 o’clock mark on the face. I like this one better than the first, but it still feels like it’s lacking something.

1ambytes, the new 1amgeek project starts now. Inspired by iHeartGeek’s new Geekisms (formerly LittleGeekThings), we aim to run a parallel series (not meant to be in competition in anyway). Submit your own and we just might post it. (via Byte001)
