Tuesday Tunes: “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” - Suburban Legends

Yes, this is a cover of that song from Toy Story, but I tend to like covers. Plus, this one is done by a peppy ska band called Suburban Legends which I got to see live with Reel Big Fish and the Aquabats. They were a lot of fun, so if you want to hear more by them use the Internet to find them.

Now, crank your sound box and let the music move you. And if you know the words, sing along.

"Phazon Corruption" - Video Game Music Choir

This makes me want to play Metroid every time. The question is, Super or Prime? Which do you prefer?

Have you ever had a song that reminds you of someone you’ve never met? Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of this girl that I’ve never actually met, but I wish I had the chance to.

"Into the Wilderness"

This is the opening to Wild Arms. My favorite PlayStation game of all time. Somedays I wish I had the time to replay it for the twelfth or whatever time.

Tuesday Tunes: “Jimmy Olsen’s Blues” - Spin Doctors

There have been times when I feel I’ve been competing with Superman. The problem is that I do not have a pocket full of Kryptonite, so how do I deal with losing out to the Man of Steel? The Spin Doctors, and hoping that one day my Lois Lane will put me in her plan.

Every Friday I listen to video game soundtracks while at work

Preferably more retro soundtracks from the SNES, 64, PlayStation days, including OC Remixed versions of said soundtracks. Here’s what’s on my playlist:

  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Donkey Kong Country 2
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary
  • Wild Arms
  • Wild Arms 2
  • Wild Arms: Alter Code F (updated versions of Wild Arms OST)
  • Metroid Prime
  • Sonic the Hedgehog: The Sound of Speed
  • Harmony of a Hunter (Metroid tribute)
  • Video Games Live Level 2
  • Bastion

hi-koo #47 - headgear

Crank up the music.
Let the beats flow through your veins.
Turn down the world’s sound.
