The List

To take a break from my normally super geeky routine, I’ve been trying to come up with a list of things I’d like to see in a girl. Perhaps this will be viewed as a list of demands, but they aren’t required, just things I hope for. But after going through a whole bunch of things, I realized there’s really just one thing that matters.

Here’s the list:

she’s pondered wearing suspenders
she can sing
she can listen to Beethoven, Kanye West, Hall & Oats and still have room for Cake
she has a favorite Star Wars movie
she understands the reference 1.21 gigawatts
she’s okay with being compared to Liz Lemon
she’s comfortable hanging around on the couch on a rainy day reading or watching tv
she thinks she’s beautiful
she lets me cook and bake
she lets me buy her mozzarella sticks
she can beat me in at least one video game
she knows who Shawn and Gus are
she likes Simon Pegg
she has ambition
she’s passionate about something
she likes animals
she has a favorite superhero
she knows James Bond villains
she can quote movies (any movie is fine, I’m not super picky)
she watches the Discovery Channel
she likes TV
she likes books
she likes cuddling
she is ticklish
she enjoys rain and snow
she has a beautiful smile
she knows who MacGyver is
she’s interested in history
she makes her own halloween costumes
she’s willing to tell me her secrets
she likes Bruce Willis
she’s heard of Doctor Who
she has dreams
she likes my friends
she plays board games
she’s a fan of delicious flavor
she lets me take care of her when she’s sick
she calls herself a geek
she likes that I am a geek
she knows the words to “Don’t Stop Believing”
she plays air guitar
she dances like no one’s watching
she wants to travel
she makes awkward silence comfortable
she is six degrees from Kevin Bacon
she could debate the pros and cons of time travel
she laughs at and with me
she also has a crush on Nathan Fillion
she can make me laugh
she’s smart
she would go to Jurassic Park
she has a favorite sweatshirt
she’s a dreamer
she won’t let me give up on my dreams
she likes penguins
she likes to look at the night sky
she loves me for me

I know it sounds sappy and whatnot, but it’s true. All of that other stuff doesn’t matter as much as that last one.

Oh, and one other thing. She owns a t-shirt with sort of geek reference. That is a requirement.
